I’m not speaking from a textbook. I’m no guru.

I just lived in the dark and found my way back.

I’m Tony Mac. I don’t come to this work with letters after my name. I come with a criminal record, two suicide attempts, a son I love and a long list of things I wish I had understood sooner.

I’m not telling my story to excuse the harm I caused or pretend I have life figured out. Some days, I still white-knuckle the wheel. I tell it because too many men are suffering behind closed mouths—and too many people who love them don’t know how to reach them.

If something I’ve lived can help a man speak before it’s too late, or help someone recognize what may be hiding beneath his silence, then it is worth sharing.
